Summer Communications Intern Needed

Want to learn how to create and expand the public presence of an organization? How to align written communications with strategy? Get some experience in public and community relations?

In this internship, you’ll be helping to bring high-speed Internet access to unserved and underserved homes and businesses throughout Lamoille County, engaging community support and stakeholders on behalf of Lamoille FiberNet.  Lamoille FiberNet is a communication union district, governed by appointed representatives from each Lamoille County municipality.

You’ll learn how to create awareness of and support for Lamoille FiberNet by generating and managing tailored content for our website, MailChimp newsletter and social media platforms, including Front Porch Forum, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Since Lamoille FiberNet is a grant-funded municipality, you’ll also learn about working within regulations and grant requirements.

This paid position is 20 hours per week, flextime, working in our Morrisville office and remotely. If you’re a self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills, and you would enjoy working with a team to give Lamoille FiberNet’s member communities greater access to online education, telehealth and economic development opportunities, please check out the full job description here.

Applications must include a cover letter and resume — no phone calls please.

Lamoille FiberNet is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Those who identify as women and non-binary, people of color, veterans, individuals with disabilities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and other individuals from underrepresented populations are strongly encouraged to apply.

Signing up for Fidium with a “long drop”? March 31 Deadline!

If you’re going to order Fidium Fiber, and the distance from your home or business to the pole/pedestal (i.e., the “drop”) is long, the cost of running fiber that distance can be a barrier to adopting broadband internet service. You can apply to Lamoille FiberNet’s Long Drop Program for funding to offset the long drop cost -- deadline is 3/31/25.
