Non-Standard Fidium Drop Funding — Deadline is Nov. 1st!

At Lamoille FiberNet, we are finalizing our policy to distribute funding to assist with the cost of non-standard drops (see below). The window for survey applications closes at 5:00 pm on November 1, 2024.

Funding is available in these seven towns that donated some ARPA funds: Belvidere, Cambridge, Eden, Hyde Park, Johnson, Waterville, or our service area in Wolcott (ARPA funds come from the American Rescue Plan Act).

Within the seven towns, addresses eligible for this funding are limited to:

  • unserved or under-served addresses included on Lamoille FiberNet’s 2023 Grant Application (we can determine if your address qualifies)
  • addresses that require non-standard drops (more than 500 feet from the pole, or with no conduit, or with existing conduit that’s unusable) and
  • addresses that are signing up for Fidium internet service.

What do I need to do?

  1. Submit survey form by the November 1st deadline! (If you have already filled out this form, there is no need to fill it out again.)
    1. We will confirm your address eligibility.
  2. Arrange a Fidium installation visit (this visit does not commit you to proceeding)
    1. A Fidium technician will confirm the distance, non-standard drop requirements, etc.
  3. Get contractor’s estimate for conduit or pole installation
    1. We will need this for preliminary budgeting for each town.
    1. We will then inform each qualified applicant how much money is available to them so they can decide whether to proceed.
  4. After conduit installation is completed, the qualified homeowner may submit receipts for expenses, and we will pay the homeowner.
    1. We will pay no more than 100% of the invoice amount (likely less).
    1. DIYers can submit invoices for materials.

Friday November 1st at 5:00 pm is the deadline! To apply for this funding, fill out the survey by November 1st, online at https://forms.office.com/g/LVNtYN2qBp, or on a paper copy that’s available at town clerks’ offices or on your phone with our QR code: https://lamoillefiber.net/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/DropSurveyQRcode.png.
