Lamoille FiberNet Annual Meeting & Officers

New officers were elected at Lamoille FiberNet CUD’s fifth annual meeting on May 13, 2025. The board extended heartfelt gratitude to outgoing Chair Jeff Tilton, praising his leadership as precisely what the organization needed during his tenure. They also expressed thanks to Andy Ross, Wolcott’s board representative, as they elected him as the new Chair, and they elected Jeff as Vice Chair, thanking him for continuing to serve.

Colette Jurnak will remain as Lamoille FiberNet’s Treasurer, and Tasha Wallis, Executive Director of Lamoille County Planning Commission, will serve as Clerk.

As the CUD’s construction phase nears completion, the long-term focus remains on grants management and project oversight. Volunteer Governing Board members are stepping up to take on expanded responsibilities, ensuring the project’s continued success. To support this transition, Lisa Birmingham, formerly the Executive Director of Lamoille FiberNet, has assumed a consulting role, providing valuable continuity.

Additionally, the board approved a bylaws amendment to allow greater flexibility in setting future annual meeting dates, and they also received an update on Phase 2 of the ongoing fiber network construction, which will deliver high-speed internet to the remaining unserved and underserved addresses within the CUD’s district.

LAMOILLE FIBERNET MISSION:

Signing up for Fidium with a “long drop”? March 31 Deadline!

If you’re going to order Fidium Fiber, and the distance from your home or business to the pole/pedestal (i.e., the “drop”) is long, the cost of running fiber that distance can be a barrier to adopting broadband internet service. You can apply to Lamoille FiberNet’s Long Drop Program for funding to offset the long drop cost -- deadline is 3/31/25.
