Broadband Installer Apprenticeship Training

Here’s a chance to get into a high-paying profession and help bring high-speed internet to Vermonters. Classes start on March 23rd in Colchester!

In this training, you will:

  • learn to install, repair, and maintain fiber optic equipment,
  • learn to work on communications networks across the state,
  • have a chance to get into a high-paying profession, in jobs in IT, smart grid, and engineering trades.

Requirements are:

  • high school diploma or equivalent (or will have within 6 months),
  • valid driver’s license,
  • ability to climb ladders and work at heights,
  • ability to work in small spaces, including manholes, and
  • ability to see differences in wire and cable color

Apply for Long Drop Assistance by 3/31

Bringing fiber internet to a home or business from the distribution network (e.g., the pole at the end of the driveway) is called a “drop,” and it can be expensive. The good news is that Lamoille FiberNet will pay for a broad range of long drops for future Fidium customers through its expanded Long Drop Program. This program is available in all 10 Lamoille County towns. Applications are due March 31, 2025.
