Lamoille FiberNet — Now is a good time
Bringing fiber internet to a home or business from the distribution or pedestal is called a “drop,” and it can be expensive.
Now is an ideal time to benefit from a new allowance for free drops from Fidium. The new policy changed the original 500’ limit of drop length to 2000’, and it includes underground conduit and any type of drop, long or short.
If you or someone you know was told last year that your/their address exceeded Fidium’s old standard drop of 500 feet, you/they will need to reach out to Fidium at 877-760-2789 to re-initiate your installation process and take advantage of the new allowance.
The federal grants that fund these drops — American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grants awarded by the Vermont Community Broadband Board to Lamoille FiberNet — must be spent by the end of 2025.
All Lamoille FiberNet member towns are eligible for funding for drops, not just the towns of Elmore, Hyde Park, Wolcott, Stowe, and Morristown, which are the towns where Lamoille FiberNet’s partner Fidium will be completing their final phase of construction in 2025.
