Lamoille FiberNet’s LONG DROP PROGRAM — March 31 Deadline!
Bringing fiber internet to a home or business from the distribution network (e.g., the pole at the end of the driveway) is called a “drop.” The cost of non-standard or long “drops” can be a barrier to adopting broadband internet service. To help residents and businesses afford to connect to Fidium’s newly constructed fiber services, Lamoille FiberNet Communications Union District created a Long Drop Program, and we are issuing this reminder:
- Addresses in all 10 towns in Lamoille County may apply
- The current application deadline is March 31, 2025.
Applications are available at www: lamoillefiber.net or https://forms.office.com/g/z8bk3Kzxpp.
Addresses that applied for the original long drop funding program last fall do not need to reapply. You should have received an email from Lamoille FiberNet informing you of your address eligibility. If you did not, you may contact us at drops@lamoillefiber.net.
Important Notes:
- Deadline: Help us help you — by applying now so we can define the long drop demand as soon as possible. Our grants that fund our long drop programs have deadlines, and Vermont’s construction window is limited. Lamoille FiberNet is leveraging both town-funded contributions and state-funded savings from 2024 construction to fund our Long Drop Program. One application covers both long drop programs.
- IMPORTANT: These programs are administered by Lamoille FiberNet, NOT Fidium. Please do not call Fidium about long drop funding assistance — Fidium call center personnel do not have information about Lamoille FiberNet’s long drop programs. They will not be able to help.
LAMOILLE FIBERNET MISSION:
To prioritize access of unserved and underserved addresses to symmetrical, high-speed, and affordable internet service — as soon as possible.
